I just thought of something!! hahas. Inspired by some child prodigy on tv. hahas here goes my nonsense. hehe

Well, let me tell you my side of the story first. I didnt really like playing the piano for many many years. And everytime, when i practiced, its mostly 30mins or so. But this year i practiced more and theres more passion. Sometimes i play for an hour, but there are still times when im just lazy to practice.

I saw on tv, there is this guy who plays the violin. And he practices 5-6 hours a day. I am very very very Surprised and at the same time Very Very Very despised myself. hahas... No wonder there is this saying that Geniuses are made up 99% perspiration 1% i forgot wat izzit..

In the car on the way home, i was talking to my mom,

Me : " I thought of this sentence, " Its not the years, its the hours that count". You know wat i mean? Like playing piano, its not how many years you play, its how many hours of effort you put in. Coz there is this boy who could play better than a grade 8 person in just 2 years. What do you think of my sentence? "

Mom : " I think its not a good idea to compare time with time because there is no contrast in it. A chinese saying which is similar is 台上一分钟，台下十年功。It means a performer may only perform for a short time on stage, but there is actually much more years of hard work which the audience cant see. "

Me : " Oh.. ok... Then... how about.... Its not the years, its the determination? or is perserverance better? Maybe sacrifice? "

Dad : " Determination good!"

Mom : " Hahas. my english not good so its up to you to think and decide. "

Often, there is smth which i really want to do well in.. (exams, chess, future dreams etc) but always 力不从心.. then will start to find it meaningless, start to lose interest and start to wonder why you deem it as so important in the first place.

Maybe thats why the biggest improvements are often seen in beginners. Its really really not easy to maintain after that. Very energy draining.

So many years i've been telling myself that i should really be more serious in my playing.. haiz.. until now still telling myself.. no change... Tuang Yun Ru, you do it again you get it from ME!!!

For me, determination is most important. You decide wat you think is important to you in doing things ba. hahas. ^^ jia you le.
